Lisa Farrell has over 20 years of experience in integrated healthcare systems. She has relocated to North Carolina where she is looking forward to working with providers and stakeholders over the next several months to design programs to serve Medicaid beneficiaries.
Ms. Farrell previously served as President of Presbyterian Network, Inc. and Presbyterian Health Plan where she was responsible for overseeing a $2 billion provider-owned and led health plan serving more than 430,000 New Mexicans. During her time with Presbyterian, she oversaw the implementation of many key programs, including the launch of Centennial Care, New Mexico’s expanded managed Medicaid program which includes physical, behavioral and long-term services for traditional, expansion and dual-eligible populations.
In previous roles, Ms. Farrell focused on leveraging integrated system of hospitals, physicians and health plans to redesign traditional healthcare delivery. Among her accomplishments were the design and implementation of an innovative Emergency Department Navigation program resulting in a 20 percent reduction in Emergency Department visits and the development of several provider-based care management programs. Ms. Farrell also oversaw the design and implementation of a successful patient transfer center that resulted in a 75 percent increase in referrals from tertiary facilities, keeping patients in New Mexico, closer to their families and at a more affordable cost.
